Why People Find It Hard To Quit Smoking

Smoking is blamed for many deaths each year.  People go on smoking when they know how bad it is for them.  It is hard for them to quit with being addicted to the nicotine in the cigarettes.  Over the years people have become more aware of the situation and what it can do to their health and how it affects the people around them.  There is no doubt that smoking is a danger.  It can cause heart disease and cancer in people of all ages.  But knowing all of this, people still find it hard to quit smoking.  It may be hard but it is not impossible to quit smoking.  Nicotine is very bad for people and is absorbed into the bloodstream when they smoke.  Smokers than become dependent on it and the way it makes them feel.  They than become addicted to smoking.

When people do decide to quit, symptoms can catch up with them.  People may experience symptoms such as depression, hunger, feeling tired, stomach pain, headache, nausea, dizziness, coughing, chills and trouble sleeping.  When people stop smoking they find it very hard to know what to do with their hands.  This is where they sometimes eat more to have something to do when they crave cigarettes.  Smoking can become a huge part in people’s lives.  It is part of their everyday routine and becomes very hard for them to give it up.  People smoke the most when certain triggers pop up during the day.  They may smoke after they drink coffee or because they are in a certain place.  These triggers are different for each person.  People should try and overcome these feelings to smoke with will power.

If you try and quit smoking it may take more than one try.  You may have to try different methods before finding the one that will work best for you.  Smoking is a bad habit and is hard to break.  But you have to realize how it is affecting your health and the people around you and you need to keep this in mind when you go to quit smoking.
