nicotine gum isnt working for me?

i recieved my nicotine gum today from ny quits and it is making me very sick to my stomach. the taste is unbearable, it burns my mouth and my throat, and also makes me gag. i cant stand it, it makes me so sick, ive only used one 2 mg piece, seeing as i just got the package today, and i was wondering how many hours it would take for me to be able to smoke again with out getting sick.
can anyone help me?
