Quit Smoking Cigarettes – How to Stop Part 4

In the first three parts of this series, we talked about how the reasons for a person started smoking at an early age helped to build the psychological mechanism of smoking. This mechanism starts to operate beyond conscious control, because the smoker has long forgotten why start smoking. The first part of the process to stop smoking is to use special techniques to remember these early reasons. The second part of the process is to review and eliminate the reasons that a person continues to smoke. In this article we will discuss why smokers ignore the serious health consequences of smoking. What Would You Do? You've been smoking for over 25 years. His mother has been a smoker for over 40 years. She calls you by phone one day and said he had been diagnosed with lung cancer. You see your mother deteriorate and a few months later, she dies. As a smoker, what would you do? If you're like a client of mine, you turn right to smoke! How can that be? If you are part of 76% of the population who do not smoke, it is likely that this is outrageous. How can a person see what cigarettes did to his mother and still use them? It's the same reason that people have difficulty to simply stop smoking: Smoking psychological mechanism This mechanism was created in most people before the age of 18. The average age is around 15, although some people start smoking earlier. Not coincidentally, starts smoking at the time of puberty and identity crisis. The identity crisis is an unpleasant period of childhood, where there is a mistaken identity. The person is not a child but not an adult either. Struggling to define themselves. Because body and hormonal changes, puberty is a very intense period of the life of a person. Everything is amplified. The emotions are strong and the world view is still that of a child exaggerated out of proportion. The child wants to accelerate the process of being declared an adult. Smoking is an attempt to resolve the identity crisis. It is a way to declare, "Hey, I'm an adult!" Adults smoke, therefore I am an adult! Overcoming this confusion and ambiguity is critical, is a great incentive for young people. This is what will apply the incredible strength of will to turn the normal body, the harsh reactions of protection, the hot smoke entering your lungs sensitive. The fact that smoking is learning a harsh, unpleasant task makes the young person more strongly defend it. They have many reasons why they have to smoke. All the positive comments they get from their friends in addition to the power of smoking psychological mechanism. In adolescence, the time has passed and we reach adulthood, the mechanism is on autopilot. It still satisfies itself reason to exist. It works independently of your consciousness. The nature of the psychological mechanism of smokers smoking The psychological mechanism is frozen again in childhood with all the inexperience and lack of vision of the child. Emotions and the worldview of the child to define the mechanism. Children have a limited view of mortality. They have trouble conceiving of themselves be damaged or die. So many teen driving accidents. The whole subject of snuff consumption is controlled by the psychological mechanism of smoking. When it comes to discussing the topic of smoking with a smoker, you're dealing with children 15 years of age, not the adult. This is why trying to have a rational discussion about the dangers of smoking, not get very far. The 15 year old boy does not believe that health problems. A child of 15 years believes that smoking is an important part of his life. NEED smoking. It's something that should be protected. When discussing the dangers of smoking, you have symbolically with fingers in ears and a chorus of La, La, La, La, I can not hear you. A real life example of my client, Bonnie Ryan, has kindly agreed to her story as an example of how the psychological mechanism cancels smoking adult thinking mind. It was Bonnie's mother, who died of lung cancer, however, refused to quit. It was too important to her. Nearly nine years after the death of his mother, Bonnie began to have problems with your lungs. It was only at this point it was decided he needed to quit. However, she did not really want to quit smoking. Bonnie writes: "After smoking for 35 years, my health was deteriorating and I knew it was time to quit. Emotionally, it hurt the idea of losing what I gained from smoking, and I was convinced that I have gained much . Since my mother smoked through my childhood, I could not imagine who has not smoked for the first time in my life. " You will notice that struck the idea of quitting. It was like something very basic and sacred, are being taken from her. Something I needed! She, of course, had heard all the health hazards of consumption of snuff in recent years, but like most smokers, tuned out. Smoking had become convinced how important it was for their welfare. Watching her mother waste away and die of lung cancer was not associated with their own smoking. It was not until she started having health problems, she conscious decision to quit. There was mourning in the decision to quit cigarettes, that smoking was his psychological mechanism began building at age 15 years. A mechanism made by and emotions of a child, see the world of snuff, 15 years old and never change their perspective. A mechanism for child always ignoring the harmful effects of smoking and constantly looking for justifications to continue smoking. The mechanism has to go the way only one person can remove cigarettes from your life is to dismantle the psychological mechanism of smoking. This is accomplished by identifying and eliminating the reasons for a person started smoking and why they continue smoking. When this is done, the person becomes, not an ex-smoker, but a non-smoker. Removing the psychological mechanism of smoking puts the individual back into the conscious control of all perceptions and attributes that adults have. They no longer have to struggle against the illogic of the mechanism of children they have created. They have no conflicts when their perceptions of adult logic are nullified by the lack of logic of children created myopic smoking psychological mechanism. When the mechanism is gone, so is smoking permanently. There are special techniques to be used and that the smoker has to invest time and effort. Psychological With the right tools, the incredible power of mind can be sent back to conscious control and child smoking psychological mechanism removed. When smokers unlearn (TM), the system goes back to the time before starting to smoke and the mechanisms of the body's normal defense against harsh smoke, heat in your lungs start working fine again. Smoking aversion becomes as it did with the first cigarette. At this point, not be motivated to turn the enormous effort required to convert back off! You have become a nonsmoker.
